Why did you decide to pursue your MBA? 

When I looked at where I wanted my career to be in ten years, I knew a good MBA program would provide the leadership development, knowledge of business fundamentals, and networking opportunities to help get me there.

How has this program impacted your career?  

The program helped re-energize my career. One of the first things we tackled was leadership development—focusing on how our strengths, skills, and motivations intersect and provide value. Completing this course forced me to evaluate myself, articulate my goals, and develop a clear understanding of what drives me as a leader. This clarity of purpose helped me advocate for myself and resulted in me receiving two promotions while completing my MBA. 

What was your favorite aspect about your experience at DeGroote? 

I had a few, but some of the highlights include exposure to new concepts and ways of thinking, developing new skill sets, and learning from my diverse and talented cohort. 

What surprised you about your experience at DeGroote? 

Entering the program, I was prepared to learn business fundamentals and theory related to strategy, finance, marketing, and analytics. But I was pleasantly surprised by the strong focus on people. People-centered development and innovation, people leadership, and effective collaboration were common threads throughout everything we learned.

What would you tell anyone considering taking this program? 

Invest in yourself and your career. If you are ready and willing to challenge your ways of thinking, operate outside of your comfort zone and develop knowledge, skills, and mindsets that will advance you personally and professionally, I highly recommend this program.
